Character Name: Xorkas
Player Name: Nathan
Air Genasi
Cleric/Wizard
Thirty years ago, the infant Xorkas appeared in a vortex of wind and lightning in Dor-Toril’s temple to Vergadain. The priests did not know what to make of his appearance, nor did they know what to make of the immediate arrival of another air genasi to retrieve him.
Syzerra, a genasi seer working for the Librarians of the Hall of Runestones, claimed to be the child’s aunt and that she had forseen his coming. She took him back to the Hall of Runestones, where she served as the personal assistant to Alareth, the High Librarian of the Temple.
By the age of 4, Xorkas was already being apprenticed to be a librarian of the order, as well as receiving instruction from Syzerra on the basics of divination.
But at age 11, Syzerra was accused of sabotaging the Sacred Runestones and was forced to flee Dor-Toril. With his aunt gone, Xorkas was able to console himself with two friends. A Halfling librarian named Elga, began to look after him and he began to regard her as his second aunt. And that same year, Xorkas befriended a young gnome by the name of Rezzan, who was training to become a warrior of the Bronze Masks.
At age 13, Xorkas’ life changed, as Xal, a water genasi follower of the goddess Auril arrived in Dor-Toril, claiming that Xorkas had been chosen by the Frostmaiden to bring winter to the Underdark. Assembling a cult calling themselves the Icebeards, Xal has watched over and harassed Xorkas ever since.
At age 14, word of Xorkas spread across the entire city, when a herd of rothe went stampeding through the Bronze Mask District. Yet, when the herd seemed just about to trample the young air genasi, something happened. The animals became calm and circled around the boy, calmly awaiting the herdmasters to retrieve them.
By age 17, Xorkas began to develop a taste for exotic pleasures and started to frequent the Merciful Court district of Dor-Toril, especially the Temple to Sune, Goddess of Love and Beauty.
At age 20, Xorkas had become best friends with Brindle Deepwell, son of Lord Deepwell, the Gnome representative on the King’s Council. Xorkas moved into Deepwell Keep to be Brindle’s advisor and companion.
At age 27, Xorkas began his long-time love affair with Celeste, a priestess and thief working at the temple of Sune.
At age 28, Lord Brix Deepwell was killed in an accident involving Underdark creatures. Brindle becomes Lord of Deepwell, but does not take his father’s place on the King’s Council.
At age 30- The game begins. Xorkas saves the life of Therin Cloakshadow, priest of Baravar the Sly One, who claims to now owe him a life-debt.
