Session 1Our session began with brief individual interludes which dealt with how each player was associated with Gaedran Lamm. Next, all of our heroes meet in front of Zelarra's House of Fortune, each having received a note instructing them to do so on the back of a Harrow card. They meet Zellara, an old Varisian fortune teller, who tells our heroes that Gaedran Lamm has murdered her son and stolen her Harrow deck. She tells them where he is and begs them to put an end to him. Dagial Goldenthroat scouts ahead and finds that the location is an old abandoned fishery upon the river. He gathers the rest of the heroes and they gather in front of the fishery. Sanuye kicks in the door which begins their raid. Our heroes fight through a small army of urchins, "Lambs Lamms," as well as Lamm's assistant Yargan, an insane orc named Giggles, a gnome posing as an urchin, and a mercenary with a magical tower shield crafted to look like a face. Dagial was knocked out by Giggles and thrown into a massive vat of chum. With one last effort, Dagial was able to command his unseen servant to push him to the top of the chum, where Sanuye could pull him to safety. Our heroes descended to the underlevel of the fishery, where they discovered Gaedran, feeding an urchin to two giant alligators, one named Gobblegut, the other named Hookshanks. Gobblegut nearly swallowed Dagial and almost bit Erastil in half. But Ozzren fled, leading Gobblegut away so the two could be saved. Aisha, Sanueye and Vandar battled Hookshanks and slew the beast. Sanuye cornerd Gaedran and decapitated him, only to learn later that he was an imposter. Our heroes discover many valuables in "Gaedran's" stash, most important being Zallera's decapitated head, her Harrow deck and a brooch they recognize as belonging to Queen Ileosa. Erastil is able to discover that Zallerra's soul is tied to the cards and can be summoned by the party. Upon leaving the fishery, our heroes see that Korvosa is in chaos. The King has died, and there are now riots in the streets. After some debate, the heroes decide to follow Aisha, who has been disguised as a man, to a safe place that she knows of. The heroes brave the riot filled streets, stopping some looters along the way. When they reach the safehouse, they see it is blocked by rioters. But Dagial steps forward and inspires them by shouting "Death to the queen!" and then launching into song. The crowd lifts Dagial and parades him through the streets, allowing the others to enter. The heroes learn that Aisha is a member of the Cerulean Society, the Korvosan Theives Guild, and they are led in by her superior Rook to an underboss named Jorillon. Jorillon tells them that the city is in turmoil because of the unexpected death of the king. He also tells them that the Cerulean Society is plagued by gang wars. Something has stirred up the minor gangs. Aisha tells him that she believes it is Gaedran. Jorillon asks the heroes to work for the Cerulean Society, to find Gaedran, and to help bring the rebel gangs under control. The heroes agree. When told of the Queen's brooch, Jorillon asks the heroes to return it to the queen and see if they can find some sort of connection between her and Gaedran. Or learn why Gaedran had it, if they can. Jorillon sends someone to fetch Daigal and invites the heroes to stay in the safehouse until the city has settled down. Jorillon provides the heroes with food, wine, and whores to pass the evening away. In the morning, the heroes are told that riots have lasted all through the night and that one common thing among them all, is that they are all singing the song that Dagial started. His song has spread through the city like wildfire. They also learn that the Queen has invited the Hellknights into the city to help quell the rioters.

Session 2The heroes awake in the Cerulean Society safehouse. They agree to work for the Cerulean Society and are told to report to the Blockhouse, the Midland Guildhouse. When they emerge from the safehouse, they see that most of the city is locked up tight, while some riots are still going on. They encounter Grau, a Korvosan Guard deserter and hand him over to a Hellknight. An urchin from the fishery tosses a piss pot at them and curses them for killing his friend. Aisha burns his face off with an acid splash and he falls to his death. The heroes get to the Blockhouse and are assigned to Theris, a lieutenant of Jorillon. Theris tells them that they have three goals: 1. Restore order to Korvosa 2. Bring the lesser gangs into line/stop the gang war 3. Find and capture Gaedren. He also orders them to return the queen's brooch to Castle Korvosa and try to find out how Gaedren got it. The players decide they'll try to infiltrate the Korvosan Guard. The heroes make their way towards Castle Korvosa and come across a mob trying to kill some Korvosan Guards. They save the guards from the mob and a choker and they agree to escort them to the Castle. Once there, they are admitted into the Castle. Lycidus, the most popular bard in the city and a member of the Heights Guildhouse has words with Aisha and Dagial. Sanuye discovers that her sister, Meeda, is now Shoanti ambassador to Korvosa. They have words. The heroes are introduced to Queen Ileosa by her bodygaurd Sabina Merrin. Erastil learns that his brother is now advisor to the queen. Sabina Merrin The queen gives them a reward for returning the brooch and urges them to help her bring order to the city. She offers them a position with the Korvosan Guard and they accept. The heroes are escorted to the Citadel by a contingent of Korvosan Guards. Vandar sees an old aquaintance and learns that the dwarves of Janderhoff have a bounty out on his head. He "apprehends" the aquaintance. Erastil receives a messenger bird that his father wants to speak with him, so he leaves the party and heads to South Shore. Cressida Kroft The rest of the party are brought into the Citadel and introduced to Field Marshall Cressida Kroft. She can't believe that the queen has chosen them, but still gives them badges, orders, and a warning that she will be watching them. She orders them to apprehend some deserters from the Guard, lead by Verik Vancaskerkin. She tells them he can be found in Northpoint. When leaving the Citadel, the heroes befriend a Korvosan Guard named Cedric, who, for gold, tells them all sorts of tidbits, including that Verik leads a new gang called the Cow Hammer Boys, who will get rid of "problems" for the right price. The heroes head towards Northpoint. Meanwhile, Erastil is trapped by Gaedren and his thugs alone in the street. Erastil is able to turn himself invisible and gets away. Erastil returns to his father's enclave, where his father expresses his outrage at his being expelled from the Acadamae and for earning the family the emnity of House Ornelos. He commands Erastil to make peace with House Ornelos using any means necessary. Erastil consults his mad sister. She prophesies of dark times coming and orders him to hurry to meet up with his friends. The rest of the heroes go to the Temple of Abadar and pay for a messenger bird to be sent to get Erastil to meet them there. When Erastil arrives, our heroes head into a poor section of Northpoint. There they find Verik and his men in a meat shop called All The World's Meat. Lines of people are lined up to get free food. Verik Dagial gives the men the secret code Cedric told him about and is brought in. Dagial pays them to track down the halfling Honeytoes who betrayed him. When Dagial exits, Sanuye bursts in and attacks. The heroes are unable to beat the trained Korvosan guards and flee, leaving Dagial and Erastil behind. The heroes flee to the Northpoint Guildhouse, where they meet Asa the Northpoint overseer. She agrees to help them take out Verik. Meanwhile, Verik revives Dagial and Erastil. He tells them to deliver a message to Cressida Kroft, that he is his own man now. And then he tells his men to set the two free. But after Verik leaves, his men decide to feed Dagial and Erastil to the pigs. First Dagial, then Erastil escape. The two flee through the streets and meet up with their fellow heroes and 20 Cerulean Society members. They all return to the meat shop, but it has been cleaned out and abandoned. The heroes return to rest at the Northpoint Guildhouse. Dagial meets Lyrica Honeytoes who tells him that Gaedren used her unwittingly. The next day, the heroes split up and gather information in Northpoint. Ozzren discovers that Verik and his men were seen fleeing into Old Korvosa. The heroes go into Old Korvosa and encounter a goblin gang named the Foultooth Chokers. With the use of charms and diplomacy, the heroes win over the gang. They tell them that Gaedren has approached them and recruited them to help overthrow the Cerulean Society. The goblins also say that Gaedren gave them three Blood Sisters, former pirate companions of Sanuye. The goblins sold the three to a Shingles Brothel called the Honeypot. The heroes get one of the goblins, named Snotgrub to lead them to the Honeypot and the sessions ends with them travelling through the Shingles towards it.

Session 3Our heroes continue to follow the goblin named Snotgrub through the treacherous rooftop slums known as the Shingles. Erastil suddenly takes his leave of the party and leaves Zellara's Harrow Deck with Aisha. Vandar pickpockets a wand off of him before he leaves. The heroes are overtaken by the Last Laugh, an Old Korvosan gang, but our heroes easily defeat them. They arrive at the Honey Pot and follow the tiefling prostitute into the decrepit brothel. Sanuye discovers three of her Blood Sister pirates chained up here: Chantika, Rosa and Delana. The prostitutes are revealed to be varguilles and after a fight, the heroes are able to free the three former pirates. Chantika tells everyone that Gaedran captured her, wanting to know what she had done with an otyugh statue she had taken from a ship a few weeks ago. Chantika told him that she had sold it to the Jaeggare Museum. Chantika burns down the Honey Pot and the heroes make their way down to the street level. Vandar recieves a messenger bird asking him to meet Elisia Leroung at the Korvosan University. Our heroes decide to visit Eel's End. Aisha meets Trinia Sabor, a former harem member. She warns her that Borelas, advisor to the queen had questioned her about poisons in relation to the king. Dagial conned the Eel's End enforcers to beat an orc, who later turned out to be looking for Sanuye. He warned her that her brother had come to the city to kill her and to find the White Spear before her. Our heroes bribe the enforcers and are allowed in to see the King of Spiders. In order to gain his respect, Ozzren, Dagial and Vandar play knivsies and the King is pleased. They ask him to find Gaedren. The King of Spiders agrees, if they will retrieve a book that was stolen from him by a Dark Stalker gang. The heroes agree. In the morning, Vandar hires two thugs to watch his back. Our heroes travel to the Endrin Military Academy and go to the entrance to Jzadarune, an old gnomish weapon's lab that at one time was used to make magical weapons for the Korvosan Guard. It is now used as the base of the Dark Stalker gang. The heroes enter and encounter several traps and are attacked by two skulks. Our session ended with them coming across a very polite mimic and an captured imp. They learn that Yauthyb, the leader of the Dark Stalkers is dying of a magical disease. The heroes kill the mimic and the imp. The game ends with Vandar disabling the next gear door.

Session 4Our heroes attempt to devle deeper into Jzadirune. Vandar triggers a magical trap and vanishes! The remainder of the heroes make their way through the abandoned gnomish underground factory. Along the way they are assaulted by Dark Creepers, as well as strange magical rooms. A room with magical pools. A room where gravity constantly shifts. A room with four floating jewels, one of which caused the air in the room to be replaced with water, another one which created a copy of Dagial! A room of blinking! Finally they found Yauthyb, the Dark Stalker leader of the gang, in a room that was the source of the magical disturbances in the dungeon. Yauthyb told them that he was dying of a magical condition called the Vanishing, caused by interaction with the magical items tainted in Jzadirune. He stole the grimoire of Jzadirune from the King of Spiders (and all the other books he'd been stealing) in order to try to find a cure for himself. He revealed that he had discovered half of the formula in the grimoire and that the other half was known by Jzadirune's familiar, an imp that he had trapped in a silver cage. The Grimoire of Jzadirune When our heroes realized they had killed said imp, they attacked Yauthyb. Sanuye grabbed the book and then threw Yauthyb into the magical font of flame, disentigrating him. After running off the remaining Dark Creepers, our heroes slept for two days in the magical font room. Our heroes then left Jzadirune, only to come across signs that gang war had broken out between the lesser gangs and the Cerulean Society. Now in the daylight, the heroes realize that Dagial has been infected by the Vanishing. The heroes meet J'zen, a wounded Cerulean Society member who tells them that there is now open warfare between the lesser gangs and the Cerulean Society. The players tell him they are going to see the King of Spiders to find out where Gaedren is, and J'zen comes with them. Morvic of House Kale In Old Korvosa, a young noble named Morvic mistakes Dagial for Lycidus. He invites "Dagial" to perform at House Gran in a weeks time. Dagial tells him to send the invitation to Eel's End. Captain Imilaya At Eel's End, Ozzren meets his ex-wife Captain Imilaya and her crew. She tells him that he hasn't changed and he's still in the gutter. She's glad she divorced him. A fight almost break's out but the King of Spider's enforcers make sure it doesn't. Our heroes also learn that a rumor is spreading through the city. That King Eodred was killed by poison! The King of Spiders Our heroes meet the King of Spiders, but make J'zen stay outside. They give him the book and he tells them that Gaedren has allied himself with a slaver named Kazmojen and can be found in the Vaults beneath Midland, near the Chaos Pits, in an old dwarven fortress called the Malachite Fortress. He tells them that Gaedren is trying to gather a hobgoblin army to help him overthrow the Cerulean Society. Our heroes ask for the King of Spiders help to cure Dagial of the Vanishing. In exchange, he asks them to go meet Ativer, the wizard who crafted Dagial's throat, at an inn in Northpoint. They agree. The heroes tell J'zen to go tell the Cerulean Society that Gaedren can be found in the Malachite Fortress and he leaves. Our heroes leave Eel's End and notice they are being watched by a group of sailors. Sanuye recognizes them as victims of a Blood Sister pirate raid. Ativer the Wizard Garvin, assistant to Ativer The heroes meet the half-elf wizard Ativer of the Acadamae and have dinner with him. They discuss everything with them and gives them advice. Sianna He tells them that he will pay them in magical items if they will agree to bring him a tiefling named Sianna alive. Our heroes agree and begin to plan their kidnapping of her the next evening at a party at House Danis. Lord Jeggare Our heroes travel to the Heights to buy fine clothing for the party and decide to stop by Jaggare Museum. They learn from Lord Jaggare that someone stole the Otyugh statue from the museum. They tell him that they are Korvosan Guards and that they think Gaedren Lamm was behind the theft. Lord Jaggare gives Sanuye an Earthbreaker. Our heroes supply themselves and head back to Eel's End, wanting to hire the King of Spiders to forge invitations for them to the party at House Danis. On the way, they are attacked by the disgruntled sailors who want revenge on Sanuye. Snotgrub warns them from the rooftops. The heroes slaughter half and the other half flee. Lyrica Honeytoes, aka Nana Goodberry Arriving at Eel's End, the heroes meet Lyrica Honeytoes. She tells them that she brings orders from the Guildmaster that they are to go to the Malachite Fortress immediately and to attack Gaedren Lamm. The heroes tell her they have to see the King of Spiders first. Alone. The King of Spiders agrees to get forged invitations made for them for 200gp. He tells them they'll be ready in the morning. The players have words with Lyrica. Lyrica and Dagial get into an argument, where he shuns her affections. They pacify her by promising her that they will accompany her first thing in the morning to the Malachite Fortress. In the morning, the King of Spiders gives them the forged invitations. Another argument ensues with Lyrica when our heroes delay going to the Malachite Fortress. Aisha charms Lyrica and takes her aside, convincing her to tell her everything. Lyrica tells Aisha that Gaedren Lamm really loves her and that he is only trying to make her stronger. She reveals that she works for him and that he is going to overthrow the Cerulean Society. She asks Aisha to join them and also to let her have the honor of killing Dagial. Aisha tries to stealthily slit her throat, but fails. Saunye grabs the halfling and she can't get away. Enraged she tells Dagial that her real name is Nana Goodberry and that she plans to kill Dagial because he killed her father. They deliver her to the King of Spiders who interrogates her alone. Later the King of Spiders calls them in and promises the heroes that they will never see her again. He reveals everything that he learned from Lyrica. They learn that Lyrica killed J'zen, so the Cerulean Society still does not know Gaedren's location. The heroes ask the King of Spiders for help against Gaedren, but he insists that he remain completely neutral. He does, however, promise not to tell anyone else about what he knows about the heroes. The session ends with the heroes stepping out on to the deck of Eel's End. It is morning and the party at House Danis is to be this evening. Vandar has been missing for three days!

Eel's EndSession FiveAfter delivering Lyrica into the hands of the King of Spiders, our heroes get a table in the Goldenhawk (the inn ship at Eel's End) and discuss their plans. Ozzren pulls out Zellara's Harrow Deck, and the spirit does a Harrow reading for them. She says that their fates are intertwined with that of Korvosa. Based on their decisions, they can bring the city to riches or to ruin! Captain Chantika and her Blood Sisters find the heroes. She tells Sanuye they have acquired a new ship, called the Direption and urges her to rejoin the Blood Sisters. Sanuye says that she must get revenge on Gaedren Lamm first and Chantika gives her her blessing. Our heroes spend the day at Eel's End disguising themselves and resting for the upcoming party at House Danis. But during the day, Dagial slips away to the Temple of Shelyn and pays for a messenger bird. He sends a message to the halfling sailors of the Sea Imp telling them about the Blood Sister pirates and their new ship. House DanisThat evening, our heroes arrive at House Danis and present their forged invitations. Aisha poses as a lady of House Dromedon. Dagial is her little brother. Ozzren and Sanuye as bodyguards. Lord DanisThey mingle with the nobles. There is much talk about the poisoning of the King, the thieves war in the city streets, and about the gathering number of Shoanti across the river. Aisha charms the tiefling Sianna, but waits for the right time to seize her. Aisha then tries to incite a fight between Vencarlo Orisini, the most renowned fencing instructor in the city, and Bahkor, personal bodyguard of Lord Malakin Arkona. Bahkor seems eager for the fight, but Lord Malakin defuses the situation. Lord Malakin ArkonaAt the dinner table, Dagial sings a song about the glories of House Arkona. His performance is so breathtaking that the entire party is in awe of him. Aisha uses the opportunity to convince Sianna to leave the party with her, Ozzren and Sanuye. Lord Malakin gives Dagial his own ring and asks him to come to dinner at House Arkona in the near future. Niobe, priestess of Shelyn asks him to come study at the temple, and Lady Thonn asks him to study with the children of her house under a music tutor. Dagial slips away and follows the rest of the heroes back to the Laughing Wave Inn. Garvin leads the heroes to a house behind the inn that has been rented for them, so they can deliver tieflings without being seen. Ativer appears and casts a spell on Sianna. She collapses. Ativer rewards the heroes with a circlet of pursuasion and the heroes agree to kidnap a second tiefling for him. This time he needs them to capture Redwood Oakblossom, the offspring of a demon and a dryad. They agree. Ativer also says that he knows how to cure Dagial of the Vanishing. But he needs the iounn stone of Jzadirune that is in the possession of a gnome wizard named Tepest Geezlebottle, the headmaster of the Theumanexus Academy. It is approaching midnight when the heroes visit the Temple of Abadar and purchase healing potions. They they travels south to Midland and find the entrance to the Chaos Pits, the sewer slum beneath the city. Sanuye indescriminately slaughters street people, while Aisha's new eidolon, the aura of a slaad, sends the survivors into a panic. Our go down into the sewer slums, and burn the street people's dwellings as they go, causing a panic. They storm through the market and break their way into the Chaos Pits fighting arena, where a gladiator match is underway. Xukasis the OgreSanuye slaughters the orc gladiator and cuts the arena owner. The fattest ogre our heroes have ever seen emerge from the slave door and attacks them, but our heroes cut him down. Our heroes release the captured slaves from their holding pins. Sanuye kills a few out of principle, but lets the remainders go. Our heroes find the entrance to the Malachine Fortress, where Kazmojen the slaver lives and slaughter their way down inside it, killing the guards as they find them. Kazmojen the SlaverThey witness Kazmojen and a female slaver hand over ten women slaves to a mob of forty hobgoblins, who are celebrating their new alliance with Gaedren Lamm. While the hobgoblins party, the heroes sneak past them. Lexira, the SlaverDeeper inside the fortress, they discover the slave cells and see Kazmojen and the female slaver, Lexira, engaging in some perverse entertainment. They kill Kazmojen quickly, but it takes longer to fight Lexira. She relishes the ecstasy of the pain when the heroes wound her, and transfers half of the damage to the four slaves in the nearby cells. Sanuye pins her to the ground and the other heroes finish her off. They revive her and Lexira is elated. She thanks them for the best experience she has ever had. They question her more, killing her again in the process and reviving her. She tells them that Gadren Lamm is in the great hall entertaining the leader of the hobgoblins, celebrating their new alliance and she tells them how to get there. She thanks them again, before they finish her off. The DancerOur heroes storm into the great hall and find Gaedren Lamm and his minions seated on pillows, watching an exotic dancer perform. Two hobgoblins sit in places of honor, while a large troll-like creature sits in the back chewing on a musician. Gaedren LammOur heroes storm the room. Gaedren escapes by casting a cloud of fog. Dagial is nearly killed by the troll-creatures massive hammer. And Sanuye falls beneath the great club of Gundra. But the heroes prevail and Gundra flees after Gaedren. GundraOur heroes follow the trail of blood, which leads them up a secret passage and into an alley in Midland. They lose the trail soon after. Returning to the Malachite Fortress, they search Gaedren's room. They find a braid of hair that belonged to Aisha's mother. They find Sanuye's bloody toenails. And they find a sketched portrait of Aisha. They learn that Gaedren has been studying the tunnels beneath Korvosa, looking for something. They also learn that he had plans to visit Shoanti Town and speak to a barbarian named Thousand Bones. As the heroes return to Eel's End to rest, they discuss the three paths laid before them. 1. Get the iounn stone from the Theumanexas Academy. 2. Capture the tiefling Redwood Oakblossom. 3. Go to Shoanti Town.

Session SixOur heroes awaken at Eel's End and learn that the city is abuzz with the news of the previous night. Everyone is talking about how they believe that Hobgoblins tried to invade Korvosa in the night. The Korvosan Guard lead a raid and destroyed them and collapsed the tunnels they were using to get into the city. The heroes realize that it was their raid on the Chaos Pits and the Malachite Fortress that prompted this. Our heroes also learn that House Dromedon was burned to the ground last night and not one person escaped. The heroes ponder who may have behind the fire. There is also talk of a halfling navy ship fighting a pirate ship down the Jaggare River to Conqueror's Bay. Aisha suspects Dagial was the informant. Borelos, advisor to the QueenOur heroes leave Eel's End and are stopped by Borelos and a group of Hellknights. He offers them 3,000 gp to arrest Trinia Sabor for the murder of the King. They agree. SnotgrubThe heroes remain behind after Borelos leaves, discussing what to do. They are visited by Gux Foultooth, the goblin gang leader who demands 20 gp for Snotgrub's services. Aisha charms him and Dagial convinces Gux to trade Snotgrub for a "magic coin" that will make him win at gambling. The heroes decide to go directly to Shoanti Town to find news of Gaedren Lamm. Caleb of the Korvosan GuardThey encounter their Korvosan Guard informant Caleb at the bridge. He seems eager to tell someone what he's learned from the party, so Dagial follows him while the others wait at a small tavern on the East Shore. Dagial follows him to the Citadel where Caleb tells Cresida Kroft that Gaedren was involved with the hobgoblin invasion. She rewards him with a bottle of Chelaxian wine. Saint Alika reborn?Dagial reunites with the party. They encounter a crowd around a small girl who people believe is the reincarnation of St. Alika of Pharasma. She asks Ozzren "Why do the dead rise in Korvosa?" The heroes approach Shoanti Town and learn that the barbarians are in an uproar about a missing Shoanti boy. The heroes approach and Sanuye is able to talk their way in to the encampment where the Shoanti are shouting for war against Korvosa. Meeda the Storm of Blades; Sanuye's sisterSanuye's sister, Meeda is shouting to the crowd, demanding that they invade. When she sees Sanuye, she calls her an outcast. A challenge is made and the two fight. Sanuye battles her sister and the fight is nearly even, until Aisha conjures a hawk and has it attack Meeda. The barbarians see this as a sign that the Hawk Clan has turned against Meeda. Sanuye is proclaimed the victor of the challenge. During the fight, Dagial warns an old Skull Clan shaman that another barbarian was creeping up suspiciously behind him. Thousand Bones, a Skull Clan shamanAfter the fight Sanuye debates against an Axe Clan female and Thousand Bones, the skull shaman. Thousand Bones wants the Shoanti to remember their sacred duty to protect the pyramid that Castle Korvosa was built upon. The Axe Clan female wants the Shoanti to join Queen Ileosa and be her elite guard in Korvosa. Sanuye declares that she and her companions are looking for Gaedrenn Lamm. Thousand Bones says that he came and left with a Shoanti boy named Gaehlik. The totem spirit has told Thousand Bones that Gaehlik is now dead, but his body is missing and therefore the rites cannot be completed to send him to the Spirit World. Sanuye promises the Shoanti that they will return with the boy's body. They enter the tent of Thousand Bones where they undergo a spirit quest to commune with the Owl and learn where the body is. Each of our heroes is bitten by a dream spider and their consciousness enters a spirit totem. Sanuye, a King Crab. Aisha, a viper. Ozzren, a spider. Dagial, a weasel. And Snotgrub a toad. The Owl tells them that an ancient evil sleeps beneath Korvosa and that Gaedren Lamm wants to awaken it. Our heroes fight off crows and a rabid dog, but in the end, the King Crab and the viper brings beads belonging to the boy back to the Owl. The Owl gives them one of his feathers and bids them to take it to the Desna Map Room in the Pantheon of Many and it will show them the way. Members of the Hawk Clan give Sanuye her sisters sword as they leave. Tepest GeezlebottleOn the way to the Pantheon of Many, our heroes pass by the Theumanexus College. After protecting a young student named Isbel from Acadamae students, they are shown to the Headmaster Tepest Geezlebottle. He gives them the iounn stone of Jzadirune and they promise to return it when they are done. Our heroes arrive at the Pantheon of Many. Aisha, Ozzren, Sanuye and Snotgrub go to pay a visit to the temple of Calistrea. Dagial goes to the aviary of Sarenrae. Dusa and Vulpa, the priestesses of Calistrea are pleased to see Aisha and vow revenge against Gaedren Lamm. Achalor of Desna arrives and also is happy to see her. They take the feather to the map room, but a gust of wind blows it high into the air, they chase it through the Pantheon of Many as it blows into the aviary of Sarenrae. Meanwhile Dagial discovers someone who looks like Vandar speaking to a priest of Sarenrae. After confronting him, they realize it is not Vandar. They have Dusa and Vulpa apprehend him while they chase the feather, which settles at the gate of the Grey District. They return to the temple of Calistrea and learn that the man is Vandar's twin brother Lord Kaliper Leroung and that he has been searching for him. He says that this bounty on Vandar's head is an embarrassment to the noble house and for Vandar to come see Lady Elisia Leroung when he turns up. Our heroes enter the Grey and learn that the dead have been very active in Potter's Ward. They are lead to a ossuary by a young inititate named Crispin. The heroes enter the muddy warrens below and encounter undead, Derro, an Otyugh and stirges. They are only able to recover the legs and hips of the Shoanti boy and decide they should retreat. They leave the warrens and return to the room behind the Laughing Inn. Dagial summons Ativer and gives him the iounn stone. Our heroes spend the night in the Laughing Inn room and plan to return to the Dead Warrens in the morning.

Session SevenOur heroes are awoken before dawn by the arrival of Ativer. He gives Dagial the cure for the Vanishing and returns the iounn stone of Jzadirune to him. Ativer also informs the heroes that during the night the Queen issued a proclamation that Aisha Snaketongue and her companions are wanted for the murder of King Eodred! While our heroes prepare disguises for themselves, Snotgrub leaves the house to go get help. He returns an hour later with Master Zurza, a very old goblin, with long hair and a beard. Now, disguised, the heroes make their way back to the Gray District to try to locate the remaining pieces of the Shoanti boy's corpse. Along the way, they see that the Korvosan Guard, the Sable Company and the Hellknights are scouring the streets, looking for them. Skeletal snakes and ghouls paralyze our heroes!Back in the Gray, the heroes return to the tomb where they fought the Derro. But they discover a trap has been laid for them during the night. They are overcome by the paralysis of skeletal snakes and ghouls, who drag them deep into the tunnels. Vreeg, the Derro NecromancerThey are brought before a derro necromancer named Vreeg and his cronie Cabbagehead. Vreeg is insane with anger at our heroes. Dagial keeps him talking, while the others break their bonds and attack! Cabbagehead, the deformed OgrekinAisha charms Cabbagehead, who begins attacking Vreeg, but Vreeg blinds the poor ogrekin. After a pitched battle, the heroes defeat Vreeg. They free the six captives, and allow one to go: a rogue named Tiora who promises to bring them a reward at the Shoanti Camp two days from now. Sanuye executes the other five for being worthless. The heroes search the remainder of the tunnels and locate the missing parts of the Shoanti boy. Gathering them together, they leave, renew their disguises and try to make their way to Shoanti Town. They leave the blind Cabbagehead behind, telling him his master will return soon. Along the way, they are stopped by a Hellknight patrol, but bluff their way out of it. At the North Bridge, they create two distractions that allow them to pass by the guards. First, Aisha sends a viper to bite Caleb the guard. Second, Ozzren and Zurza start a fire in a nearby alley. Returning to Shoanti Town, the heroes are challenged by Sanuye's sister, Meeda, as they approach. She wants her sword back, but the heroes brush her off. She vows revenge. They return the boy's body to Thousand Bones. He says that the Shoanti will keep them hidden from the Korvosan Guard for as long as they need, and will help them track down Gaedrenn Lamm. The heroes notice that they are being watched by a barbarian female and follow her out of the encampment. They are correct, that she was going to inform the Queen of the heroes' whereabouts. She urges them to join her with the cause of convincing the Shoanti to serve the Queen as her personal guard. The heroes refuse but strike up a deal. The barbarian woman promises to not report them for five days while they track down Gaedrenn. But the heroes promise to surrender themselves if they haven't captured him in five days. Old FalconThe heroes spend two days resting in Shoanti Town. On the third morning they are introduced to Old Falcon and his shaman apprentice. The angry boy apprenticeOld Falcon appears to be very senile and the boy is openly hostile to our heroes, blaming outsiders for the death of the shaman's first apprentice. The heroes bicker with him and Sanuye shames him by snatching his magical necklace from him. Old Falcon and the boy are to show the heroes where the dead Shoanti boy guided Gaedren Lamm, and in the morning they set out. The boy leads the party back into Korvosa and to an alleyway where they find a Sable Company Marine examining an open plug-manhole into the Vaults. The marine grows suspicious when they flash their Korvosan Guard badges, but a combination of fast talk and charm spells convinces the marine that they are not who he is looking for. Our heroes descend into the Vaults (sewers) and discover that the otyughs are missing. They find a half eaten body of a Sable Company marine and as they travel, they feel tremors rumbling through the sewers. Old Falcon leads them to a hidden Shoanti passage, where they encounter a room filled with a standing stone representing each of the Shoanti Clans. A Shoanti spirit guards each one and the door beyond. The heroes discover that an action that represents each clan activates the rune, and finally, the spirits open the door for them. The heroes follow a passage that leads to a long-sealed cave belonging to a lost Shoanti Clan of the Otyugh. But Gaedrenn has already been here and smashed open the Otyugh statue, taking whatever was inside it. They follow his trail through passages that lead up to the city arena. There they discover that Gaedren has organized a peace treaty meeting between the Cerulean Society and the Lesser Gangs. But it is a trap. While the leaders sit at a table on the arena floor, Gaedren summons otyughs to burst from the ground and eat them. Meanwhile, his thugs form a perimeter around the arena to prevent any leaders from escaping the otyughs. Our heroes burst onto this scene and cut their way through the thugs. They fight their way through otyughs and climb up the arena stands towards Gaedren. Gundra is killed by SanuyeSanuye battles Gundra and cuts her down mercilessly. Old Falcon is killed, but before he can pass the Staff of the Falcon on to his apprentice, Old Zurza grabs it and becomes the new chosen one. Soon after, the boy is eaten by an otyugh also. Ozzren flees across the carnage-strewn arena floor. Snotgrub leaps to his rescue. Gaedren LammDagial confronts Gaedren on his own, heroically. The remainder of the party converge on Gaedren. But when Sanuye hacks his arm off, his otyugh statue turns on him. It eats his way into Gaedren and transforms him into a giant otyugh with a human head! Dagial is almost eaten, but the heroes defeat Gaedren and he falls from the top of the arena to the street below. Below, the heroes see a street war going on between the Cerulean Society and the Lesser Gangs. The Korvosan Guard and others are trying to contain it. Sanuye raises her bloody sword high into the air from the summit of the Arena, getting the attention of the crowd below. And Dagial uses his magical voice to proclaim to all that Gaedren was the true killer of King Eodred! Sable Guard marines fly down to land beside the heroes, who show them the Blacklash poison and copy of the Queen's Amulet that was among Gaedren's possessions. The heroes are flown to Castle Korvosa on the backs of hippogriffs to present their evidence. They are brought before Queen Ileosa and make their case. Queen IleosaThe Queen apologizes to them and proclaims their innocence. Moreover, she declares them heroes of Korvosa and pardons them of any past crimes. She asks them to stay in Castle Korvosa for several days as honored guests and tells them that a feast will be held for them in their honor in a few days. They are shown to their rooms. But Dagial doesn't trust the Queen, and resolves to sneak out of the castle as soon as he can...

Session 8Our session began with newcomer, Caleb, cleric of Gorum, who travelled to Korvosa with a Shoanti barbarian named Krojun Eats-What-He-Kills. Krojun, also a follower of Gorum, has led Caleb to Korvosa, because he has seen signs that a great warrior maiden will show herself here and bring great glory to the Lord in Iron. Caleb and Krojun arrive just in time to witness our heroes throw Gaedren Lamm to his death from the top of the arena. Krojun declares "we have found her." The following morning, Vandar learns that he has been kept captive for weeks by House Leroung while they tidied up his bounty problem. Lady Leroung claims that it was an embarrasment and now she demands that Vandar be married to a Chelaxian noble for political purposes. Vandar protests but goes to Castle Korvosa to meet her. Meanwhile, Krojun and Caleb meet Thousand Bones and enter into Castle Korvosa with him. The remainder of our heroes gather for breakfast after a very restful night as the Queen's guests in Castle Korvosa. Vandar is shown to them and they catch up. Vandar tells him that he wants to get out of the arranged marriage that has been planned. Krojun and Caleb arrive. Krojun attacks Sanuye, in an obscure Shoanti greeting. She wrestles him to the ground. He congratulates her and introduces Caleb, as a fellow cleric of Gorum. He says that they have been searching for her. Zellara's spirit rises out of the Harrow Deck and the heroes see visions of a coming time of death and suffering. They also see that Caleb is intertwined in their destiny. Borelas comes and talks to them about the upcoming ball in their honor. The heroes spend the day in the castle preparing for the ball. Sanuye discovers that Queen Ileosa has been physically abusing beautiful young servant girls. She has Snotgrub sneak to servants out of the castle to hide them. Vandar, Dagial, Aisha, and Caleb hear rumors that the formal Seneschal and Commander of the Sable Company is missing. When Dagial seeks out the head servant to question him about party guests, he sees a shredded portrait of Verik Vancaskerkin. The servants are horrified, when Dagial repairs it and hide it away. The heroes prepare for the ball. Aisha wears an extremely revealing dress and Sanuye decks herself out in chained attire with a symbol of Zon-Kuthon in her hair (an attempt to catch the Queen's eye, which works.) Daigial dresses nicely, but covers his golden throat with a scarf. And Ozzren dresses in rugged dungeoneering gear. Queen IleosaThe four of them step before the queen and she makes them the first members of the Order of the Crimson Throne. Next, she declares Borelas the new senescal and commander of the Sable Company. During the festivities they mingle with the elite of Korvosa. Vandar meets his betrothed, Karina and is impressed by her beauty. He gets drunk and despite everything has a good time with her. Karina of House Thulian of CheliaxAisha dances with many people, including Lord Arkona, the Commander of the Hellknights and Vencarlo Orisini, who she invites to her bed after the ball. The Elf Ambassador also approaches her and tells her that he is her father. Ozzren refuses to introduce his mother to the Queen, but Aisha does so on her behalf, and the queen agrees to restore what she has lost. Sanuye is greeted warmly by Nolox Zeent, high priest of Zon-Kuthon. Seela, paladin of Abadar watches her all night. Sanuye sees her sister Meeda, led away by the Queen's Grey Maidens. Dagial dances with Lord Danis' daughter the entire night, enraging her father and then takes her to bed with him after the ball. Our heroes are awakened in the morning to find that Alea Danis has been murdered. Her skin was flayed and a rune of pain had been carved into her midsection. In her mouth was a note addressed to Aisha, saying "We have not forgotten." Borelas and Cressida Kroft meet with the heroes, and Cressida admits that a similar murder took place a day ago. Borelas appoints the heroes to investigate the murder. Cressida protests, but Aisha charms her. They are ordered not to let anyone know about the murder in the castle. Our heroes depart in the early morning hours. They are approached by sinister figures who bear them an invitation to come dine with "the Master." They refuse and fight the messengers who turn out to be vampires. They drive them off, but decide to go to Giotorrio's Toys, the site of the dinner anyway to kill them. On the way, the heroes stop in a bar, to try to secure some wooden stakes from furniture. There, Dagial recognizes his fellow crewmen from the Sea Imp. They are celebrating and they toast Dagial, telling him that they sunk the Blood Sister's ship last evening. They praise Dagial for giving them the tip that led them to the ship. Sanuye is enraged and attacks Dagial. Aisha puts the halfling sailors asleep and Ozzren helps Sanuye attack Dagial. Vandar runs to get the city guard. Caleb joins the crew of the Scarlet Squid and wagers bets against Dagial. Sanuye kills Dagial, but the power of Zellara's Harrow Deck restores him to the edge of life. Snotgrub grabs Dagial and flees. Sanuye kills DagialVandar returns with the Korvosan Guard and everyone flees. Sanuye kills the guards and Ozzren sets the tavern on fire. Sanuye and Ozzren catch Snotgrub and take Dagial's body from him. They then shove Dagial in a barrel and set it on fire, leaving him there to burn. Snotgrub pulls Dagial from the barrel and begins taking him back to the house behind the Laughing Wave Inn. Meanwhile, Aisha, Caleb and Vandar have returned to Cressida Kroft and report that they were attacked by vampires and that they affected the minds of their companions, a lie to clear Sanuye of murder charges. Under Cressida's orders, they take Vandar to the temple of Abadar and the High Priest dispels any enchantments from him. Sanuye and Ozzren decide to return to the Laughing Wave and catch Snotgrub and Dagial entering the house. Sanuye delivers the killing blow to Dagial. Snotgrub says that "Vandar's Gang is no longer fun," and leaves. Ozzren takes Dagial's body inside and pounds it into a pulp. Snotgrub quits "Vandar's Gang"Vandar, Aisha and Caleb arrive and take Sanuye to the temple of Abadar to have the "enchantment" removed from her. Vandar runs back to House Leroung and gets poison from his father. Next, our heroes visit Giotorro's Toys. They descend into the tunnels below it and find the vampires, Cabbagehead and Rolth, the Master. Rolth, the MasterAfter questioning them, Rolth traps them in a room and leaves them to be eaten by ghouls. After fighting off the ghouls, the heroes are attacked by an undead chair made of human skin and bones. The session ends with the heroes meeting Nathan's new character, who was tied up on the table, and wondering how they will escape the room.

Session 9Our heroes find themselves trapped within the stone chamber by Rolth, the Master. After defeating the ghouls, both Caleb and Vandar begin to feel weak and sickly. They meet the man who trapped on the table, who introduces himself as Grimdar, the author. Sanuye recognizes him as an aquaintence of the priest of Zon-Kuthon. The heroes climb the walls and try to escape through the ghoul tunnels. They crawl into the base of a well-shaped room and encounter four vampire spawn, who nearly kill the party by dominating them, forcing them to try to kill each other. But finally, the heroes defeat them and escape into Old Korvosa. They decide to make their way to Eel's End, but they encounter Vencarlo Orisini on the way. Vencarlo OrisiniHe is escorting a cloaked woman who Aisha recognizes as Trinia Sabor. Vencarlo urges them to follow him to his fencing school, where he had urgent matters to discuss. Trinia SaborIn the school, Vencarlo introduces them to Verik Vancaskerkin, who has been hiding there. He tells them that something is wrong with the queen. He was once her lover, but now she is acting strangely. Queen Ileosa wants both Verik and Trinia killed. Verik VancaskerkinAisha agrees to sneak Trinia out of the city, while the rest of our heroes go to Grimdar's home to rest. Outside of the city, Aisha discovers the site where the Direption sunk. She questions the children playing with the pieces of the ship and they say that the guard Caleb saw the whole thing. She sees Trinia safely on the road, then returns to Grimdar's home. In the morning, the heroes set out to find Caleb the guard. They encounter Clegg and Zyrem, the two thugs hired to follow Vandar. They tell the thugs that Vandar has left the city in search for Dwarven women. They find Caleb and asks him to tell them about the sinking of the Direption. Caleb says he will if they will visit his sick niece. The heroes follow Caleb to Trail's End and get a feeling that a plague is starting to spread through Korvosa. They each put in 100 gp to pay for a Cure Disease potion from the Church of Abadar and they cure Caleb's neice. The mother, Tayce Soldano, praises them and tells them they will always be at home in her house. Aisha gives the Soldano boys the reanimated head of Vreeg to play with and they run off. When they exit the house, two Shoanit are waiting for them. They say that Thousand Bones wishes to speak with them. They go to Shoanti Town, where they are led into the shaman's tent. Awaiting them are Thousand Bones, Master Zurza, and Sanuye's eldest sister, Kotori, the Raven Shaman. Kotori, Raven Shaman of the Hawk ClanAfter questioning about the death of Gaedrenn Lamm, Old Falcon and the boy, Thousand Bones motions for Kotori to speak. Kotori says: There are things you must know (to Sanuye). Your exile here was no mistake. Years ago, the Midnight Lord, the God of Pain, Zon-Kuthon sent a mighty Warlord into the world. A warlord known as Kazavon, the Great Blue Dragon. He was famous for his cruelty and lust for power. And he conquered many lands, ruling them with terror and war for many years. Kazavon delighted in hunting down the Shoanti people and forcing them to commit horrendous acts upon each other. Armies from the goodly nations were sent to bring him down on numerous occasions, but every man sent to challenge the warlord was defeated, tortured, and mutilated. Although there was some dissent among his own ranks, Kazavon suppressed attempted uprisings brutally. It seemed that his reign would spread across all of Varisia, as he attempted to unite the orcs beneath his banner. But then there arose a hero named Mandraivus. He and his companions vowed to defeat Kazavon. Shelyn the Goddess of Beauty gave to Mandraivus a weapon of great power so that they could oppose her wicked brother Zon-Kuthon It was called the White Fang and it was forged by Gorum, the God of War. The White Fang slew Kazavon. But his dismembered body kept rising from the grave. Fire and acid were applied to the corpse, until all that was left were seven body parts. But even these seethed and crackled with an unholy energy and refused all manner of destruction, attempting to knit together and reform the dragon. Mandraivus decided that since none of them could wholly destroy Kazavon, they would have to hide each of the pieces, and make sure that the evil dragon would never be able to reform again. Each of the allies took charge of a piece of his skeleton, now known as the Seven Relics of Kazavon. Each ally returned to his or her homeland and hid a piece there. The great Shoanti shaman named Coja Eyes-Aflame brought the Fangs of Kazavon here. The Shoanti of the Axe Clan lived here by the sea at the base of the ancient Thassilonian pyramid known as the Great Mastaba. Coja Eyes-Aflame locked the fangs deep in the pyramid and the Shoanti pledged to guard the fangs until the end of time. But the Chelaxians came. They drove the Shoanti away and built the City of Korvosa here. They even erected their royal castle on top of the sacred pyramid. The Shoanti who still remained tried to watch over the pyramid, but that was many years ago, and the power of Korvosa has grown strong. And the Shoanti here are few. It was thought by some that the White Fang, which defeated Kazavon, may also hold the power to revive him. So, the Shoanti gave this weapon to the Hawk Clan to hide away. For some reason, we do not know, the White Fang escaped its cage and appeared to Sanuye, the Red Cloud at Sunset. .This worried the wise among the Hawk Clan. And so it was decided that Onta Son-of-the-Hawk-Spirit, High Chief of the Hawk Clan would take the White Fang to Korvosa and try to hide it inside the Great Pyramid. It is said he entered the pyramid, but neither he nor the White Fang were ever seen again. Why the White Fang escaped its cage and appeared to you, Sanuye, no one can say.. KrojunJust then, Krojun Eats-What-He-Kills bursts into the tent. He shouts:“NOT TRUE!... I CAN SAY!” “I am Krojun Eats-What-He-Kills of the Clan of the Sun. And I know well, why the Ironfang broke its chains!” “You may call it the White Fang, but its true name is Ironfang. It was forged in the Invincible City by Gorum, God of War, Lord in Iron. It was made from the great teeth of Saint Fang, the Silver Dragon, Herald of Battle. Ironfang was not to be hidden away by cowards. Ironfang was meant to spill blood! Hew armies! Crush warlords. It was made to MAKE WAR! It is the will of my god Gorum and of Ironfang to make war once again! The Shoanti have become weak, listening to the whispers of the Animal Spirits. It is time for them to return to Gorum! To wage war across the lands! Gorum shall once again make the Shoanti strong!!!!
Our heroes leave Shoanti Town and decide to go to East Shore where they were asked to investigate a murder. They arrive at the East Shore Lumber Mill and discover a victim identical to the one they found in Castle Korvosa. But this time, they encounter three wraiths. The fight with the wraith's goes poorly and Ozzren is horribly weakened by them. Finally, Ozzren decides he is going to try to crush the rune that has been carved into the body. But when he smashes it with his mace, it inflicts the damage upon himself, crushing his skull in. Already weakened by the wraith's, Ozzren is killed. Grimdar carves the rune off of the body and our heroes decide to take it to the priest of Zon-Kuthon at the Pantheon of Many. On the way to the Pantheon of Many, a rooftop assassin tries to kill Sanuye. The heroes chase him over the rooftops and through the Shingles, until they finally capture him. They learn that he is an orc, serving Prince Zolog: Sanuye's half-brother. The orc assassinThe heroes arrive at the Pantheon of Many and enter the temple to Zon-Kuthon. There they meet Nolox Zeent, the priest. Nolox Zeent, Priest of Zon-KuthonNolox tells them that the Rune of Pain is designed to trap a soul in a state of eternal pain. He also tells them that Zon-Kuthon's influence is spreading through Korvosa, as evidenced by the art, the toys, the plays, etc. Once the other heroes leave, Nolox tells Grimdar, that he thinks that it means someone else is trying to find the Bones of Kazavon in Korvosa and that Grimdar must find them before they do.

S5 - The Pantheon of Many in the South Shore DistrictSession 10Aisha, Sanuye and Grimdar gather by the center fountain in the Pantheon of Many to discuss their next move. They notice that the pantheon is very crowded and filled with sick people. A small riot breaks out in front of the small temple to Abadar, as Lord Vandar and his thugs emerge. The crowd is angry because Vandar has bought the last cure disease potion. Vandar bluffs the crowd, telling them that the Temple of Shelyn still has healing draughts, causing a stampede of people out of there. Vandar reunites with the others, and they meet Kayden, a sylph witch and aquaintance of Aisha. As they converse, they see a disturbance in front of the temple of Calistrea. A large man is claiming that one of the courtesan-priestesses gave him the plague. The mob storms the temple, but our heroes drive them away, save the priestesses and kill the instigator. Our heroes bring Kayden with them to Grimdar's house. Grimdar tells them his plan to reunite all of the bones of Kazavon in order to stop the dead from rising. But the rest of the heroes don't agree. Riot on the steps of the Temple of AbadarIn the morning, the heroes go to the Temple of Abadar, but see a mob of desperate sick citizens trying to force their way in. A line of clerics hold them at bay. When our heroes try to force their way through, the crowd recognizes Vandar and begins to riot! Vandar gets through the crowd to the temple doors and starts jeering at the crowd. Sanuye and Grimdar get through, but Aisha and Kayden are overwhelmed by the crowd. Grimdar sends his panther to drive away the rioters and it pulls Aisha free. Kayden levitates above the crowd and uses a grapple to be pulled over to the top. Inside the temple, the heroes learn that many clerics are getting sick, but no one knows how. They get potions of waterbreathing, cure disease and cure moderate wounds. Then they meet Ibrim, a cleric of Pharasma who has been waiting for them. Ibrim wants to know what Ozzren had learned about why the dead rise, and our heroes convince him to go with them to try find the source of the plague. The clerics of Abadar sneak them out of the side of the temple and they sneak out of Korvosa. On the east shore they see that many here are striken with plague. They borrow a rowboat from Trail's End and row out to the middle of the Jaggare River. Sanuye, Aisha, Grimdar, and Vandar swim down into the muddy river, but get separated. Aisha is swept away by the current. Vandar encounters a shark and is mauled. i762.photobucket.com/albums/xx263/charlesawarren007/direption.jpg [/img] Sanuye and Grimdar locate the ship first. They split up. Sanuye discovers the Captain's log. Grimdar discovers the hull is full of deaths head coffers. Aisha joins Grimdar, but they are attacked by a Sea Hag! Grimdar is gutted open, and Sanuye arrives just in time to save Aisha. They swim back to the row boat, and drag unconscious Vandar with them. Down below, Grimdar barely escapes from Yvicca the Hag. The heroes return to Grimdar's home to examine what they have found. Ibrim examines the log book and learns that the ship belongs to Vandar's father. They opena death's head coffer and find a diseased rat corpse and 20 silver. They conclude that someone is spreading the disease through the city's coins. Vandar sneaks away from the party and returns to House Leroung to confront his father. Davalos Leroung reveals his true shape to him, hidden by an illusion amulet so the family won't see the damage his experiments have done to his body. Vandar's father, Davalos LeroungDavalos injects Vandar with a sleeping potion and he passes out. Meanwhile, the rest of our heroes go to Castle Korvosa. They are received by Queen Ileosa who tells them that she is going to send the Korvosan Guard to immediately arrest Davalos Leroung. She also asks them to go by ship to the coordinates in the ship's log they found and try to stop whoever is distributing the plague. Queen Ileosa cuts an officer of the Sable CompanyWhile the other heroes rest and prepare for their sea journey, the Queen invites Sanuye to a private dinner. Sanuye questions her subtly about the influence of Zon-Kuthon on her. A Sable Company officer spills some of the food and the Queen flies into a rage, cutting his cheek with a dagger. Sabina Merrin enters and tells the Queen that Sanuye's ship is ready early. Sabina escorts Sanuye to the others, but warns her not to pursue amorous relations with the queen. Sanuye scoffs. The heroes are escorted to the Korvosan halfling ship the Scarlet Squid. On the way halfling sailors from the Sea Imp taunt Sanuye, asking where Dagial is. Soon, all are on board and the ship sails out into Conqueror's Bay. The next day, they come upon a ship at the coordinates. The Scarlet Squid comes up beside it and the halflings begin to raid it. The heroes join in, but quickly realize its a set up. Gray Maidens and Red Mantis Assassins await them, led by Meeda, Sanuye's sister. The halflings of the Scarlet Squid turn on them and soon the heroes are overpowered. They awake the next day in the hold of the pirate ship called the Wormwood. Meeda tells them that Sanuye took everything away from her. So, now she's taking everything away from them. She says the Queen wants them dead. They've learned too much. But Meeda has made a deal to keep them alive and slaves on the pirate ship Wormwood. The heroes briefly see that Snotgrub has snuck onto the ship and is in hiding. He has Dagial's ear on a chain around his neck. Captain Barnabus of the Wormwood, Free Captain of the Shackles PiratesThe heroes and a few other new recruits are brought out before the Captain. He begins to tell them the laws of the ship, but Grimdar won't cooperate. The Captain makes a lesson of him. He cuts him down and throws the body overboard. Kayden tries to set one of the sails on fire with a spell. It is quickly put out, but the Captain tells him he has committed the greatest sin on a pirate ship. Kayden is seized and keelhauled slowly. He is sliced body is brought up from the other side of the ship and in moments he dies. The Captain warns everyone the price of disobedience on the Wormwood. Then he hands the new recruits over to his first mate, Mister Plugg who will assess them and assign them duties. Session 12Our story takes a sharp turn as the players all change characters (influenced by the release of the Advanced Race Guide) and as the campaign takes a detour from Curse of the Crimson Throne and into Skull and Shackles!Captain Barnabus Harrigan of the WormwoodAboard the pirate ship Wormwood, under the command of Captain Barnabus Harrigan, a group of new recruits are brought up onto the deck before the Captain. They are: Essele, an undine Water Singer. She was a member of the crew of the trading ship Noblesse, a friend of its Captain and an expert maker of models. Master Po, a Tengu Blademaster and former pirate from lands far away. After a recent stint in military service, Po signed on to the crew of the Noblesse before it was sunk by the Wormwood. Qwizl Qwatl, a Nagaji druid who was thrown through a magical portal, sending him from his far away land to this one. He appeared on the deck of the Noblesse only a day before she was sunk. Bugbelly, an albino Grippli wizard who had signed aboard the Noblesse as a sailor. Dirk Corpus, a duergar monk and ex-pirate from the Shackles who had signed aboard the Noblesse in order to slowly work his way back towards the Shackles. After an introduction by the Captain, who orders them to never speak to him, they are introduces to first mate Mister Plugg and his boatswain Master Scourge. Bugbelly and Dirk are assigned as riggers. Po and Qwizl are assigned as swabs. And Esselle is assigned as Cook's Assistant. Mister Plugg, First Mate of the WormwoodFor several days the recruits perform their duties, some well, some not so well. Qwizl is caught shirking his duties and thrown into the sweatbox for a day. Eselle is able to prepare a special meal for the Captain which is a success. Po, on the other hand, sneaks spoiled food into the another days meal, sickening 14 of the crew! Master Scourge, boatswain of the WormwoodFinally, after several days at sea, the Wormwood arrives at the Mush Fens. Captain Harrigan gives the new recruits an assignment. He has learned that there is a temple of Urgathoa somwhere within the swamp. He knows that the Queen of Korvosa is paying the temple to produce a plague that is strong enough to kill a whole city. He reckons that she must be paying a treasure for this, but he doesn't want to risk getting sick in a temple of Disease. He orders our heroes to take a jolly boat to shore, and to find the temple and learn what treasure is there. And to bring it back if they can. The players make their way to shore and find another pirate ship anchored off of the Mush Fens. They sneak through the swamps and spy upon the pirates there. They learn that these pirates are picking up shipments of "sick boxes" to be delivered to Korvosa and that many of the crew are already ill. Bypassing the sick pirates, our heroes make their way deeper into the swamp, until they come to a great lake of muck. A black cloud of flies swarm angrily above it like a sick fog. Our heroes make their way across the muck lake in flat boat, fighting giant flies and giant maggots along the way. Finally, they enter the cave mouth of the temple, through which a river of muck flows. Slowly they pole their way into the cave. Inside, they see wet clay walls, with carvings depicting thousands dying by disease. They pass six statues of Urgathoa, and each one blows them a kiss that carries disease! Po is stricken with dyssentery, while Qwizl becomes infected with malaria. Disease PipersOur heroes discover a chamber, where Disease Pipers are directing diseased captives to fill deaths head coffers with infected rats that they are cultivating in a massive pit. The heroes kill the pipers, which releases the rats, and they head further into the temple. Priestess of UrgathoaThey discover a high-priestess, infecting a captive pirate with all varieties of diseases and chase her to a cave which contains a lake of slime. In the middle of the lake is an altar and statue to Urgathoa. Urgathoa, the Goddess of DiseaseThe heroes begin to fight the priestess and learn that the lake is actually one huge ooze, which attacks them as well. During the fight, the heroes decide to destroy the statue of Urgathoa and begin to attack it. Esselle traps the priestess in a sphere of water as Po, Dirk, and Bugbelly hack at the statue, finally toppling it after some work. The statue shatters and the ooze dies. But the statue itself transforms into an emissary of the goddess of disease, a daughter of Urgathoa! A Daughter of UrgathoaThe fight is long and brutal, but finally, they drive the daughter of Urgathoa out of the temple. The heroes quickly search and find very little treasure. After reading the priestess' journal, they learn that the Temple was producing the disease for free. The chance to sicken a mighty city was payment enough. In the eyes of the temple, their true treasure was the disease itself. Gathering up what little treasure they find from the priestesses belongings and from the captive pirate, the heroes prepare to leave the temple and cross the swamp to return to the Wormwood.(Next game session will be on Saturday, August 11)

Session 12Our session begins with our heroes still within the Temple of Disease. Qwizl Qwatl is so sickened that he must be carried by the rest of the party. Our heroes decide to take all of the silver that has not yet been infected, and divide the 4,000 silver pieces into sacks. When they make the way out of the temple and onto the lake of muck, they see the Daughter of Urgathoa floating high above, a swarm of flies whipping around her. She shouts to the heroes: "Woe to the mortal who offends a god! You are cursed! And until the end of your days, you shall be pursued by the wrath of the Pallid Princess! Your death will not come quickly, for you shall languish with fever, boils, sores and every manner of gift that Lady Pestilence can bestow upon you! YOU…SHALL…SUFFER!"The flies descend onto the players like a storm and each of our heroes feels a small spot burning on their skin. The swarm of flies then disappears high into the swamp mists, the Daughter of Urgathoa flying away with it. The heroes discover that each of them now has a small tattoo on their body, the shape of a fly: the symbol of Urgathoa. The tattoo buzzes and moves around their body from time to time. Each hero (except Ibrim) have a moving tattoo, a sign of the Curse Urgathoa has put on them. The heroes return to the Wormwood, where they are given potions of Remove Disease and are allowed to keep the gear they have. But immediately, they are forced back to work. As they work throughout the day, they realize the extent of their curse. Their fly tattoos begin appearing on other crewmembers and making them sick. That evening Po puts a plan into motion to frame Mister Plugg's cronies that causes them to get ten lashes each. Soon a storm blows up and all hands are called on deck. All players are assigned rigging work. The Deathknell At the height of the storm, the Wormwood is attacked by the legendary Deathknell, a ghost ship commanded by the undead Captain Whalebone Pilk! Brine Zombies begin to crawl up the sides of the ship, grabbing crewmen and leaping overboard with them! Brine ZombiesThe zombies begin to climb the rigging and it becomes clear that our heroes are the target of their attack! Master Po impresses the entire crew with his magnificent swordplay and even rescues Riaris Krine, who nods to him, a sign of her respect. A huge wave crashes upon the deck of the Wormwood, carrying Whalebone Pilk on to the deck. He looks at the heroes and declares: "Woe to the mortal who offends a god!" After a harrowing battle, the heroes defeat Pilk. As his body is washed overboard into the sea, his brine zombies go with him and the Deathknell sinks beneath the waves. Captain Barnabus realizes that the Deathknell was after our heroes and demands that they tell him what happened in the Temple of Urgathoa. Bugbelly immediately spills his guts and the other players quickly blame each other for angering the goddess. Barnabus wants no part of this, so forces the players to walk to the plank and throws their gear overboard with them. He even throws Qwizl Qwatl and Ibrim overboard as well. Soon, our heroes are stranded in the middle of the ocean, while the Wormwood fades in the distance. Esselle uses her Tricorne of Besmara to summon a longboat and the heroes begin sailing towards the Mushfens. But the Mushfens are a day and a half away. And the longboat will only last for 8 hours. After sailing through the night and contending with hungry sharks and feral seacats, the sun rises. The heroes realize they only have 2 hours left before their boat turns back into a hat. And suddenly they hear the ringing of the Deathknell's bell on the horizon. Luckily, the heroes see another ship, a Rahadoumi trader, on the south horizon. Bugbelly shrinks himself down to small size and flies on the back of his familiar and on to the ship, which is called the Man's Promise. He meets Captain Shazira and begs her to save them. She asks how they came to be in the sea and he says they have angered a god. Shazira looks resolute and angrees. She alters course and as the Deathknell disappears on the horizon, the heroes climb aboard the Man's Promise. Captain Shazira of the Man's PromiseOnce on deck, Bugbelly tells Captain Shazira that they are diseased and that they must be separated from the crew. The Captain sends them down to the bilges where four other pirates are being held in cells. Captain Isabella "Inkskin" Locke, formerly of the ThresherHoratio, the dashing pirateBerta, the strong, silent pirateSkiver, the thiefOur heroes tells Captain Inkskin that they are cursed and she tells them she knows how to break such a curse. When they ask her how, she tells them the Tale of Captain Brass' Laughing Grog. "Captain Elias Brass was a Shackles Pirate and a favorite follower of Cayden Caylean. On one of his adventures he met Princess Maylani of the Seafolk and was filled with lust! He had to have her, but he feared Gozreh’s revenge. So, he petitioned Cayden. Cayden told him that Gozreh would surely curse him, but the God of Beer had a plan! He gave him jug of magical grog which would remove even the curse of a goddess! So, Captain Brass raided the Seafolk palace and stole away with Princess Maylani. Gozreh cursed him, just as Cayden had predicted, but Captain Brass took a swig of the grog and laughed off the curse!
Although, the Laughing Grog saved him from the wrath of Gozreh, it didn’t save him from Princess Maylani. She strangled Captain Brass in his sleep one night and summoned a sea monster to drag his ship and crew to the bottom of the sea."Inkskin says she will help the heroes remove their curse, if they will help her take the Man's Promise for her own. Dirk, Eselle, and Po agree. But Bugbelly doesn't want to betray Captain Shazira whose has just saved them. Bugbelly escapes from his cell and runs to warn Captain Shazira. The heroes and their new pirate allies begin breaking out of their cells to start the mutiny now. Bugbelly joins the Rahadoumi crew and fights against Dirk, Eselle, Po and the pirates. But in the end, the ship is taken, Shazira is dead and Bugbelly flees the ship. Eight of the Rahadoumi surrender to join Inkskin's crew. But just as they win the Man's Promise, Whalebone Pilk attacks! As the Deathknell crashes up along side them, brine zombies begin to board. At the same time, hideous ship's whores fly above the Man's Promise, singing a haunting song that tries to get the crew to throw themselves into the sea. But Eselle is able to counter their song with hers and break the spell. Whalebone PilkCaptain Inkskin goes for Whalebone Pilk, but he impales her with his magic harpoon to the mast of his ship. Then he steps forward and begins to pull her soul out of her body! But the heroes have guessed correctly that the legendary bell of the Deathknell holds some power over him. They destroy the bell, sending Whalebone Pilk and the Deathknell permanently to the bottom of the sea! Later, Inkskin divides the plunder among the crew and they celebrate their victory. Inkskin is deeply affected by her near death experience. She pledges her loyalty to the heroes as her crew in thanks for them saving them and then tells them the full story of how she plans to remove their curse. She says: I know of a book that holds the secret of how you can lift your curse! Listen to my words…. The Free Captains are the most obvious menace of that maze of hell-cursed waterways and a thousand perilous isles and knife-edged reefs called the Shackles, but they are not its only danger, nor the worst. Nearly a century ago, Free Captain Cyrus Wolfe, a black-hearted rogue with an even blacker gift for the dark arts, plied the waters off the western coast of Garund and brought fear to hundreds of ship’s captains and crews. His daring daylight raid on the fortified Thuvian port of Aspenthar directly under the nose of that city-state’s admiralty left a dozen of the principality’s warships in f lames and over a hundred of its citizens carried off as captives for ransom. For that grand audacity, Wolfe was offered the Hurricane Crown by his fellow Free Captains, but it is said that he simply laughed in their faces.
After 3 decades of terrorizing the shipping lanes, Captain Wolfe made his biggest haul ever, when he stole the Captain’s Log of the Legendary ship, the Kelpie’s Wrath!
Everyone knows that the Kelpie’s Wrath is a haunted ship that belongs to Besmara, the Goddess of Pirates and Sea Monsters. Originally the flagship of a notorious pirate king who swore to forever serve Besmara, and when he finally died she merged his spirit with his ship so he could continue his service. They say it looks like a storm-battered pirate vessel with the skull and spine of some great sea creature mounted on the prow, with eerie lights flickering on its deck and streaming from its masts. She’s the source of many horror tales of abandoned ships found in the ocean or spectral ships crewed by ghosts, but one thing is true. The ship knows the location of every treasure lost at sea! And its location is written in the Log Book! He who possesses the Log Book, can find the greatest treasures in all of Golarion!
They say Cyrus Wolfe hid the Log Book and the treasures he found in a secret place called Mancatcher’s Cove! But the location of Mancatcher’s Cove died with him when he was captured by a flotilla of ships commissioned by the queen of Aspenthar and the Pactmasters of Katapesh. Even under torture, Wolfe refused to divulge the location of the book and his ill-gotten treasure, and so he was hung from a gibbet over the harbor of Aspenthar, where his bones were picked clean by gulls and crows as a warning to others.
The Log Book of the Kelpie’s Wrath was lost… but not forgotten.
Years ago, I served under Captain Iron Bert Smythee. Iron Bert’s star was on the rise and soon he was a Pirate Lord and I commanded a ship in his fleet. She was called the Thresher. A beauty is was!
Later, Old Iron Bert’s fleet fought in the Shackles War with Aspenthar. After sinking one of their great flotilla’s, they captured an ancient wizard, who claimed that 100 years ago, he had been the Grand Vizier to the queen of Aspenthar! It had been his task to interrogate Cyrus Wolfe and according to this wizard, Cyrus Wolf never told. But he didn’t have to. Upon Cyrus Wolfe’s body was the map, drawn out in magical tattoos! The wizard kept him alive long enough to learn the secret to tattoos, that they could be transferred from one person to another! And once the old wizard transferred the tattoos to himself, they hung Ol’ Cyrus Wolfe.
Iron Bert and his Captains stripped down the old wizard and sure enough, upon his old wrinkled skin was the map to Mancatcher’s Cove! Being as it was, Iron Bert didn’t trust his Captains and his Captain’s didn’t trust him. So, they got the secret out of the old wizard and they divided the map up, placing one small piece of the map on the skin of each of the pirate captains in Iron Bert’s fleet. That’s how I got this. My first tattoo.
After the war, it was agreed that Iron Bert would lead his Captains to Mancatcher’s Cove and they would use the Log Book to find all the treasure’s of the seas! And split it even among them. But…it never happened.
Before he could lead his Captains, Iron Bert sank to the bottom of the Fever Sea and was never seen again! He was feuding with Free Captain Carola Antiochus and word came back that she had lured Iron Bert into the edges of the Eye of Abendego and ambushed him. They say Captain Iron Bert Smythee managed to sink Antiochus’s ship before he went down. But even so, he was last seen on the deck of his crippled and sinking ship, at the mercy of the Eye’s hurricane winds. And so Iron Bert’s captain’s gave up all hope of getting their hands on the Log Book of the Kelpie’s Wrath. All of ‘em, except for me, that is.
I was able to track down the last surviving member of the only ship that made it out of that battle. And I found a man who swore upon his life that Captain Iron Bert Smythee did not have a single tattoo on him when he died! He’d given the tattoo to someone else!
I knew what no one else did. That all of the tattoo’s were out there somewhere, and if I could get a hold of them, then I’d be able to find Mancatcher’s Cove!
For the past few years, I’ve been hunting down Iron Bert’s old Captains! And now…I’ve only got three tattoos left!
Help me find ‘em and we’ll have the map! And with the map, we’ll get the Log Book! And inside, you’ll find the secret of how to lift a curse from a God!The heroes agree and the Man's Promise sets out on its week-long journey to the Serpents Teeth Islands and Freeport City, where they will search for Captain Zaleena, the bearer of the first tattoo! (Next game will be on Saturday the 25th)
