REPUTATION - Famous Harrower surrounded by rumors of underworld dealings. Widely believed to be the murderer of Kelvin Ornelos, the cousin of the Headmaster of the Acadamae. Expelled and in disgrace. Known to be the son of the Meiriani Ambassador.

Biography
Erastil was the fourth officially recognized child of the Elven Mieriani Ambassador to Korvosa, Perishial Kalissreavil. It is well known that Perishial has fathered hundreds of half-elven bastards in the last 300 years, but four pure elves he officially claims.
Erastil's mother was an irreverent elven wizard from the Mieriani Forest named Nienna Moraviel. She was devoutly religoius to Erastil and married to an elven lord. But against her better judgement, she allowed herself to be seduced by Perishial when she visited South Shore in Korvosa.
Angry at herself for her moment of weakness, she remained in South Shore until her son was born, then left him to be raised by Perishial. Because of her devotion to her god, the child was named Erastil.
It is said that at the moment of Erastil's birth, the room was filled with fireflies and butterflies. A local priest of Desna, Achalor, proclaimed that the child had been blessed by Desna. And indeed, Erastil was gifted with glowing eyes, able to sense magic.
Erastil had three older siblings:
Kalandil - A generous elf, he looks after the family business for his father. He is primarily known as a banker, but he is something of a renaissance man. An accomplished chef, his great love in life is food. He is allergic to mold.
Borelas - A stern wizard, prudish and particular. He is a vocal opponent of immorality. But he is secretly obsessed with his immoral nature, which lately he has been losing a battle with. He is a patron of Utoro, a human artist, who is a scandalous voyeur. Utoro has been taking Borelas secretly to Exemplary Excrebles.
Ashiel - A mad prophetess and harrower. She is now secluded in a tower for her own safety. She is a Kleptomaniac, megalomaniac, and Obssesed with cleanliness. Her visions are powerful, but have driven her mad.
At the age of:
8 - A special tutor begins teaching Erastil the art of social dancing.
15 - By this age, his father has hired a string of tutors to teach Erastil in all things. He excels with his fencing tutor and in languages.
20 - Erastil learns that he has been promised in a political wedding to Maylani Zenderholm of House Zenderholm. Erastil is not happy about this.
30 - The marriage occurs. And although Erastil is initially resentful, he falls head over heels for Maylani.
Lady Maylani is a human aristocrat, who loves gambling and games of chance. She also had a passin for drama, theater, poetry and literature. Her greatest love was to be an actress, but her station forbid it. Over the next years, she begins to sneak out and assume a secret identity of Arako Ard, and becomes a popular actor.
Over the next years, Erastil and Maylani have two half elf sons.
Ryden - An angry young man.
Tobin - Truthful, honest and good.
47 - After a performance at the opera house, Maylani is stabbed and killed. It becomes a scandal. And house Zenderholm demands that the Erastil's sons go to live with House Zenderholm in order to be raised properly. Erastil agrees.
56 - Erastil has become a famous Harrower. People travel from all over the lands to consult with him.
62 - He begins studying with Arturo Vencarlo, the most noted fencing master in Korvosa.
72 - Erastil marries again. It is to a Magistrate of a middle class family. This causes a scandal. Skyla is an impatient woman and has no time for such nonsense.
75 - Skyla divorces Erastil, claiming poor treatment by the elves of South Shore.
84 - Erastil is invited to the shrine of Desna in the Pantheon of Many. Achalor and others confront him, claiming that he has not followed the destiny that Desna has given him!
88 - Achalor and his followers continue to hound Erastil, causing him to rebel. Erastil is recruited by Serdem the Fat and becomes an advisor for organized crime.
89 - Gang wars erupt. Serdem's game is taken down, partially because of Erastil's assistance. Erastil is sentenced to 10 years in prison.
99 - When released from prison, Erastil returns to South Shore. He is taken in by his father, but is a source of shame.
106 - Erastil is attacked by Gaedran Lamm, a criminal who worked for Sredem. In the scuffle, Erastil comes away with scars on his back and left foot.
117 - Achalor confronts Erastil again and Desna curses Erastil. His eyelids are removed, so that he may "see."
123 - Erastil has learned to art of throwing cards.
136 - Erastil still works as a famous harrower, although with a scandalous reputation. He is appproached by a young Shoanti warrior named Grenda. She convinces him that he needs a bodyguard and Erastil hires her. The two become lovers. But Erastil's divination reveals that she would betray him to Gaedren Lamm and finally he turns her away.
142 - As a last ditch effort to find a reputable path for his son, Perishial enters Erastil into the Acadamae. Once he in enrolled, his eyelids appear.
Erastil spends his first year doing manual labor and working for Ativer the White, the head of the school of Divinatinon. Ativer has advised Kings in the past and he mostly follows whatever his divinations tell him. He has a massive magical pipe organ in the Vaults of the Hall of Seeing.
143 - Ativer introduces Erastil to ? when he presents him a magical eye.
Erastil develops a rival student from the Hall of Summoning. Kelvin Ornelos, a cousin of the headmaster of the Acadamae. The two met in fencing class and became instant enemies.
Later, Kelvin is murdered and Erastil is blamed. A fisherman claims to have seen the two fighting on the docks. Ativer intervenes and prevents Headmaster Toff from killing Erastil outright. Instead, Erastil is given over to the Korvosan guard. Ativer goes to speak with the fisherman and he spills his guts. He was paid by Gaedran Lamm to lie about Erastil. Later that day, the fisherman is found dead. Due to a lack of witnesses, Erastil is freed, but the damage is done.
He has been expelled from the Acadamae and his reputation has again been tarnished.
When he is set free, a Harrow card is among his belongings with a note. It is the Bear.
CONNECTION TO GAEDRAN
Worked with him in Serdem the Fat's gang. Betrayed the gang and got Young Gaedran arrested. Later Gaedran tries to kill him, but does not succeed. Years later, Erastil is framed for the murder of Kelvin Ornelos by Gaedran, causing him to be expelled from the Acadamae.
