Arthur Basham was a professor at Suffolk University, until he retired due to his declining health and advanced years. He now has difficulty walking, relying on a cane when he can, but sometimes using a wheelchair.
He now resides in a townhouse on Pemberton Square. He has a small practice in his home. He employs a housekeeper named Cloris who attends to him.
